It's Amazing... (What happened to ZDnet)

While cruising SlashDot today, I came across a disturbing article entitled "AMD posts blatantly deceptive benchmarks on Barcelona".  The first time I started to read it, I was honestly upset.  I have been an AMD fan for a long time, and it honestly saddened me to see a good company like this sink to that level.  The more I read, the more disturbed I became.  I finished the article wondering if I really should wait for the Barcelona to build my next computer (I've been planning on a dual-quad core rig for the past few months), or if it's not really worth it.  But then I realized something...

While looking through the comments of the post, I realized something.  Not only was the author wrong about a few points, his entire article was biased and full of mud slinging.  He makes you believe that AMD is blatantly trying to skew its numbers to look better because it can't perform without cheating.  But the actuality of it, is the numbers he quotes as being 4 months old, are ACTUALLY 4 months old (as opposed to AMD trying to pick the best numbers).  This guy's article is full of holes.  What he is good at however, is sounding authentic.

What kills me about this, is not that a bad post was made (they are all over the internet, I've made my share), but WHERE it was made.  This post was made on ZDnet.  ZDnet used to be a good source for tech news.  But recently, I've been seeing more and more BS posts like this that are loaded either with pure propaganda, or total BS.  People like this (and companies that support this activity) should be removed from the internet (That's be being nice).  Give people the facts, and let them decide for themselves.
